Project Description
The project involved the renovation of the timber framed barn, which was used by Thomas Cole as a studio during the early part of his career.
Services Provided
C&A provided structural engineering services, which involved the assessment of specific components of the building and the development of reinforcement plans & details for each. Due to the historic nature of the building, our design reused as much of the existing material as possible and all proposed reinforcement measures were either concealed or consisted of like kind material. C&A worked very closely with the Contractor and Architect to
ensure that the proposed improvements were practical
for construction and met the strict standard of the National Parks Service. |
