Project Description
The project involved the renovation of the 1st and 2nd floor framing for a proposed restaurant in this 5-story New York City building.
Services Provided
C&A provided structural engineering services. Structural work involved visually inspecting the existing structural components, analyzing new framing options, and the design and development of structural reinforcement plans & details.
The reinforcement for this project consisted of the addition of a few steel beams and columns to stiffen the existing stairwell at the 2nd floor level. Wood framing was used to reinforce the 1st floor level to allow placement of a pizza oven. In addition, numerous lintels were installed to allow for more window and door openings in the existing brick walls. |
